We wish all our experts and readers a happy Christmas and healthy new year.

We feature the results of the Times Bond Solon Expert Witness Survey 2022, which was conducted online from 19 July 2022 to 19 August 2022. A grand total of 635 experts took part, making it one of the largest expert witness surveys conducted in the UK. The survey covered many interesting issues, including whether experts should continue working after retirement, the roles of the courts and professional bodies in regulating the industry, accreditation, mentoring, fees and working in sensitive and highly contentious matters. The analysis of the results of the survey that I hope you will find interesting and useful. We would like to thank The Times newspaper, Bond Solon and the many expert witnesses who completed the survey.

General articles include; The Importance Of A Good Witness Statement In Clinical Negligence Cases and, High Court use of Privileged Material, where evidence was disclosed in error, revealing potential serious breach of court guidance. Also featured is Inadvertent waiver of privilege and concerns over independence in Pickett v Balkind.
