Public Security Chief opens GCC forensic conference in Bahrain

On behalf of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan inaugurated on Wednesday the Third GCC Forensic Science Conference and Exhibition.
Held for the first time in Bahrain, the event attracted Bahraini, Arab and foreign forensic experts and around 35 international companies showcasing the latest tools and technologies.
The conference consists of 28 sessions, including the forensic lab strategy in fighting terrorism and human trafficking. The Chief asserted the directives of Interior Minister to invest in technology and artificial intelligence and his support to acheive human, technical and technological development in fighting and preventing crimes and find evidence to ensure judiciary justice.
He said that the Interior Minister had been dedicated to sending its affiliates abroad to attend specialised and technical courses in international institutes and universities. He highlighted the role of advancement in forensic science in solving a case presented during the conference through the use of DNA fingerprinting. He asserted the cruciality to continue development in this field. He called for the exchange of expertise.
The Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi highlighted in a speech that the conference was an international platform for experts to meet and discuss the latest theories, practices and experiences. He said that the Interior Ministry was dedicated to enhancing the performance of personnel.
The Chief toured the exhibition and was briefed about the latest crime-fighting tools and technologies presented by the participating companies.
