The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is the recognised leading authority for employers and companies within the flat glass, glazing, window, home improvement, plastics and window film industries. GGF Members can be found in over 1,500 business locations throughout the UK.
GGF Members have all been vetted to ensure they provide a quality service. GGF Members work to a Code of Good Practice.
The GGF also provides a free conciliation service, should a customer and a Member company not see eye to eye over work carried out. In the rare cases that this does not work, the GGF has an independent arbitration scheme run by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Deposits placed with GGF Members are protected by an indemnity scheme, which safeguards deposits up to £12,500 or 50% of the contract price, whichever is lower.
The GGF has trained Expert Witnesses for assistance in legal disputes should the report need to be used in legal proceedings, and if a Technical officer is required to give evidence.
The Technical officers are trained by Bond Solon Law School through Cardiff University and are aware of the requirements of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) Part 35 and Practice Direction 35, and the Guidance for the Instruction of Experts in Civil Claims 2014.
Reports can be CPR Part 35 compliant if requested.
The Glass and Glazing Federation is active in setting the industry standards in both the UK and Europe and produces a Glazing Manual for architects and specifiers. This manual gives guidance and advice on all aspects of glass manufacture, processing and health and safety installation and safety.
