Musculoskeletal imaging (radiology) including orthopaedics, rheumatology, trauma imaging, spine and interventional techniques. Wide experience with over 40 years as a consultant in the use of plain radiographs, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Vertebroplasty, Kyphoplasty and other forms of percutaneous spine therapy.
Primary interest is in the application of modern imaging techniques to disorders of the locomotor system. Dr Wilson has undertaken original work in the application of diagnostic ultrasound to joint, muscle, and soft tissue disease with particular attention to joint effusion and congenital dysplasia of the hip. He also has experience in computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and standard radiological methods in the investigation of spine, bone, and joint disease.
Dr Wilson has considerable expertise in percutaneous spine therapy including chemonucleolysis, automated percutaneous discectomy, intradiscal electrothermal therapy, kyphoplasty, and vertebroplasty. He offers clinical management of chronic back pain and insufficiency fracture.
