I have been in independent practice since 1996. I have prepared over 2000 personal injury reports including assessments of; PTSD, road traffic and industrial accidents, phobias, anxiety, depression, occupational stress, clinical negligence, disfigurement, chronic pain, bereavement and the effects of interpersonal crime on victims.
I have specialist experience in the assessment and treatment of road traffic accident cases, from the relatively minor to serious incidents involving fatalities and disablement. I have expertise in the efficient treatment of travel anxiety and post traumatic stress. The cases referred to me have been increasingly complex over the years and I am comfortable in assisting the court to differentiate between pre-existing psychological disorder and the impact of an index event, taking into account vulnerability factors.
I have experience of giving evidence in court, and have organised medico-legal training events for psychologists, in conjunction with local barristers’ chambers and law firms. I am married to a Deputy District Judge, who updates me with regard to changes in the Civil Procedure Rules. I am included in the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and I am an APIL approved expert. I am instructed by claimant and defendant solicitors, and also jointly instructed.
In addition to face to face appointments, I am available for remote consultation using Zoom, Skype and Facetime
I assess and provide therapy for the following problems, and the list is by no means exhaustive:
Adjustment to life events, changes and loss
Body dysmorphic disorder
Obsessive compulsive disorder
Post traumatic stress disorder
