Consultant in Accident & Emergency Medicine Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool since 1985. I am in active shop-floor clinical practice assessing and treating all types of injury and major illness.
I have been involved in medico-legal work for over 25 years, and have been trained in the preparation of medical reports post-Woolf. I have considerable experience of giving evidence in court, and have a busy clinical negligence practice.
I regularly produce reports as an Independent Expert in cases of alleged medical negligence when the allegation is made against those working in Accident and Emergency Departments.
I have prepared over 300 clinical negligence reports in the past three years, with a claimant:defendant ratio of 20:80.
I also undertake defence work on behalf of the NHS Resolution in cases of alleged negligence, and have been commissioned as an expert witness on a number of occasions by HM Coroners in Gloucester, Brighton, Derby and Northern Ireland.
