Robert is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a seasoned insurance practitioner. With over four decades of experience with both insurers and brokers, he has a sound knowledge and understanding of general insurance, markets and practice. In the last seven years he has prepared either full CPR compliant reports or letters of Opinion to solicitors in the UK on some seventy-five insurance disputes involving brokers or other intermediaries. In 60% of these disputes he has acted on instructions of the Claimants’ solicitors and for the balance on instructions of the solicitors acting for professional indemnity insurers of the defendant brokers . He had 25 years experience as a broker in determining, placing and servicing the insurance requirements of many businesses, and in due diligence reporting for UK banks and financial institutions He has been examined as an expert witness in Court though the majority of disputes have settled prior to trial. He has advised the defence in a criminal case involving the prosecution of an insurance broker. He is familiar with FSA Regulation of insurance brokers' work. Robert is a Practising Member of both the Academy of Experts and the Expert Witness Institute.
