Forensic Video Services was established in the 1990's and is a specialist forensic imaging laboratory situated in Cambridgeshire. It specialises in writing imagery and video related reports for barristers, the police, the Home Office, HM Customs, Immigration Service, Solicitors, CPS, BBC and the ITV.
Expertise rests in imagery analysis, facial mapping, body mapping, height analysis, vehicle identification, weapon analysis, clothing, vehicle speed analysis, photogrammetry, CCTV, mobile phone imagery, digital imagery, video and DE-multiplexing. The company work for both criminal and defence. FVS also specialise in audio enhancement.
William Platts is the director and Senior Imagery Analyst of FVS. He has given evidence in the Court of Appeal (Crim Div), Central Criminal Court, The Crown court, Magistrates courts, County Court, Court of Appeal and tribunals in both the UK and Ireland.

RAF Joint School of Photographic Interpretation. Completed RAF courses in: Strategic and Tactical Interpretation, RADAR, Infra-Red, Video Production, Management, Instructor Training Course. Whilst in the RAF taught the following subjects: Imagery Interpretation; Photogrammetry; Videography and Imagery Enhancement. Trained in video and lighting at the University of Leeds. Associate Member of the Chartered Society for Forensic Scientists and member of The British Association for Human Identification, the Forensic Imagery Analysis Group. Master Member of the Institute of Videography. Trained in the Bond Solon Witness Familiarisation and Cross Examination courses. Wrote articles that have appeared in legal journals and the FVS Forensic Imagery Analyst training course.
