Professor Gerschman works privately as Director at the Melbourne Medical Centre Pain Clinic of the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne as Head of Oral Medicine, Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) and at the Melbourne University as Associate Professor in Oral medicine and Behavioral Sciences. His medico-legal consultancy included routine dental issues and dental trauma, orofacial nerve damage, TMD, Dental sleep Medicine (sleep apnoea and snoring) and chronic craniofacial pain. He is the immediate past President of the Oral Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (Federal Branch & VIC Branch) and the immediate past Secretary/Treasurer of the Australian Academy of Craniomandibular Disorders.
