Associate Professor Martin Thoms is a respected authority in freshwater environmental and ecological systems. He has overseen numerous research grants, recents projects have included a tudy of the biodiversity of riverine landscapes and variable wetting and drying regimes in floodplain wetland systems. He has conducted several research consultancies in various states across Australia and has contributed to over 130 referreed publications. Recent career highlights include appointment to the editorial board of the international journal Geomorphology and appointment to the executive commitee of the International Society for River Science.
