Dr Carter is a private practising psychiatrist specialising in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and an Associate Researcher at the University of Queensland’s Department of Psychiatry researching the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and is a member of the faculties of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychiatry of Old Age and a member of the section of Psychotherapy and Forensic Psychiatry. She also has interest in the use of alternative therapies such as Yoga and Tai Chi for the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder and back problems.
