Forensic DNA Analysis
QLD
Prof Findlay's career has focussed on the genetic analysis of DNA from small numbers of cells. He pioneered the development of single cell forensic DNA fingerprinting. He published the use of these techniques for forensic applications in the prestigious scientific journal Nature (1997; 389:555-6) This technology has major applications in forensic science, where single cells from crime scenes can now be accurately DNA fingerprinted. Over the past two years, Professor Findlay has refined and improved the technique to a level to offer it to forensic services worldwide. Professor Findlay is Chief Scientific Officer at GMS, where he heads the forensic services division.
