Nicholas Parkhouse has over thirty years’ experience of plastic and reconstructive surgery, nineteen years of which have been at Consultant level. He has a busy clinical practice in mainstream plastic surgery including the repair and reconstruction of scar disfigurement relating to trauma and burn injury and in all forms of aesthetic and cosmetic plastic surgery. He was the Editor of the British Journal of Plastic Surgery between 1997 and 2002 and has twice sat on the Council of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.

Mr Parkhouse has developed a serious interest in medico-legal issues throughout his career and maintains a high volume medico-legal practice. He has produced over 4000 reports for claims relating to personal injury and medical negligence.

He undertook expert witness training in 1994. He has maintained an even balance on preparing reports for solicitors acting for claimants and defendants. In recent years he has been increasingly instructed to act as a joint witness. He has prepared reports on a regular basis for the NHS Litigation Authority, and the Major Defence Unions and has attended Court on occasion as required.

Mr Parkhouse has a specialist interest in scarring disfigurement relating to trauma and burn injury, all forms of aesthetic and cosmetic plastic surgery, non-surgical treatments, post-surgical pain and surgical mishap.
