EXPERIENCE AS A CONSULTANT 1983 - 2011
Adult rheumatology serving Bristol, one of only two rheumatologists for all Bristol for the first ten years. Paediatric rheumatology serving Bristol, the South-West, South Wales and into Wessex. Connective tissue diseases: sub-regional service for South-West.

Throughout my time, I worked closely with the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath, collaborating in research and providing a paediatric rheumatology service. Also Ankylosing Spondylitis: co-founder of service for Bristol.
Orthopaedic management of rheumatic disorders: two-monthly combined clinics with surgeons in each of the following orthopaedic sub-specialties - hand, knee, shoulder and elbow, foot and ankle, and children’s hips.
Dermatological manifestations of rheumatic disorders: two monthly clinics with consultant dermatologist.
Pulmonary manifestations of rheumatic disorders: two monthly clinics with the Professor of Lung Diseases.

MEDICO LEGAL WORK Since 1983.
Mostly personal injury, particularly high-level claims, and involving complex cases assessing Claimants with difficult to prove conditions such as pain. 160 medico-legal reports in the last three years. 50% for the Claimant, 40% for the Defendant and 10% jointly. Over forty court appearances.

Undertaken Bond Solon Expert Witness training courses in Excellence in Report Writing, Courtroom Skills, Cross-Examination Day, Civil Law and Procedures, Civil Procedure Rules, Masterclass in Courtroom skills. Attended several Bond Solon Expert Witness conferences, 2014: Cardiff University Bond Solon medico-legal certificate.
