I have produced medicolegal reports for medical negligence claims for the last 5 years, acting predominantly for the Claimant, and have adjudicated on cases deciding whether doctors are fit to practice. I perform medical assessments for fitness to fly and to race high performance vehicles. As Clinical Lead for cardiology I am instrumental in developing protocols for safe patient care and have a particular interest in measuring quality of health care delivery. I have undertaken expert witness training with Bond Solon and have received the Cardiff University CUBS certificate.

My research interest is in the molecular genetics of cardiovascular disease and I am Principal Investigator in 15 clinical trials including studies on coronary stenting, using novel technologies to reduce infarct size in heart attack, the modern treatment of atrial fibrillation and in cardiac rehabilitation. I have won National awards (PEN award for continuity of care, finalist for HSJ Value in Healthcare and an award for commercial research from Dame Sally Davies).
