Dennis Venn is Director and Chartered Building Surveyor at Vickery Holman specialising in building disputes and neighbourly matters.He regularly undertakes instructions both as sole and single joint expert for contractual disputes, party wall, building surveys, defect analysis, dilapidations and boundary disputes. He is experienced in providing evidence in Court and working as part of a team of experts on multi faceted claims for defect analysis and building disputes. Over 20 years experience of the Party Wall Act(s).
Dennis has a particular interest in dispute resolution being a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is involvement will often encompass dispute resolution, mediation and providing advice on development. This will often involve negotiating access agreements, scaffold/crane licences and advising on issues associated with the Access to Neighbouring Land Act. He has provided advice and opinion to solicitors and counsel prior to action, undertaken informal mediation between parties in dispute and negotiated resolution in building dispute.
Owing to extensive experience of the Party Wall etc. Act, Dennis has given many presentations to peers and other professionals on the subject. In addition to undertaking appointments on behalf of building owners, adjoining owners and as an agreed surveyor, he has issued awards when selected as the Third Surveyor.
