Chartered Building Surveyor
BSc(Hons), DipBldgCons(RICS), MRICS, RICS Accredited Expert Witness
England & Wales
I currently practise as a director in a firm of Chartered Building Surveyors. I graduated from University of Salford in 1990 with a BSc Honours Degree following a four year course including one year working in industry. Following that, I passed the RICS professional exams in 1991 to become MRICS. I also have the RICS Diploma in Building Conservation.
For more than 20 years, I have acted as a boundary surveyor and for the past 13 years my workload has increasingly focussed on right of light plus BRE Daylight and Sunlight matters. Over the last 20 years, I have produced numerous Expert Witness Reports in compliance with the rules of CPR35 for boundary disputes and legal rights of light.
I have given evidence in Court on various occasions for both rights of light and boundary disputes. I have also appeared as an Expert at a Lands Tribunal Hearing in relation to a right of light matter concerning Compulsory Purchase and I have attended and advised in respect of formal mediation regarding a right of light dispute.
I am accredited with the RICS Expert Witness Accreditation Service.
