Mr Phillip Burgess is a part-time Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon and Surgical Gastroenterologist based at the Great Western Hospital Swindon & Marlborough NHS Foundation Trust.
He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Surgery at University of Oxford. He was appointed Consultant Surgeon in 1992 and is an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is also qualified in law with the degrees of LLB (Hons) and LLM (Medical law).
He specialises in general & colorectal surgery, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures including: gastroscopy, colonoscopy, haemorrhoidal surgery, perianal fistulae laparoscopic colorectal resection for benign and malignant disease and surgery for a rectal prolapse.
Mr Burgess has been providing expert medical legal reports for over 10 years.
Mr Burgess has been nominated for the Lawyer Monthly Magazine Expert Witness Awards 2016.
