Becky originally trained as a Registered General Nurse and has more than 20 years’ clinical experience, ten of which have been at Advanced Clinical Nurse level. She has experience in general medical and surgical adult nursing with specialist nursing skills in the field of urology, continence and stoma care in both adults and children. In the last few years she has gained experience in the community care of children and young people with severe disability, complex healthcare needs and life limiting illnesses. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, health centres, residential schools, colleges and client’s own homes.
Becky undertakes full care and equipment reports as well as liability reports. She has also undertaken a number of review reports regarding the implementation of Continuing Health Care funding on behalf of claimants, their families and statutory providers. She has prepared expert reports on behalf of Claimant and Defendant Firms regarding Claimant’s with a range of injuries including complex orthopaedic, spinal, brain injury and amputees; both adults and children. In her role she has attended Court and numerous legal case conferences. She has achieved accredited Expert Witness status through the Cardiff University/Bond Solon programme.
Becky has extensive experience of completing detailed nursing assessments, often using complex information to make nursing decisions and formulate effective plans of care. She has also undertaken training to become a clinical assessor and has provided training for support staff in implementing care for individuals with complex clinical needs. Becky continues to practice clinically and maintains her continuing professional development.
