Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, in full time independent Private Practice, previously substantive Consultant at Salford Royal University Hospital for > 10 years, appointed in 2006. Specialist in Hip and Knee Surgery. I completed my specialist higher training in the North West of England before commencing on Fellowships in Canada for a year (Vancouver), USA (Mayo Clinic, HSS New York City) and The Netherlands. I have published widely in the major orthopaedic journals and been awarded prizes for research and teaching. Pioneered robotic assisted joint replacement surgery in the North West, and have one of the largest series of robotic assisted partial, total knee and total hip replacements (MAKO, Stryker, and Navio, Smith and Nephew) in the UK (largest number performed year end 2022, with > 300, and total number of robot-assisted hip and knee surgery performed of > 900 to date). 

My clinical and medico-legal practice encompasses all aspects of knee and hip surgery. In relation to med legal work, I have a special interest in possible breach of duty and causation reports (in particular hip and knee replacement surgery), with instructions from both Claimant and Defendants.
