I have worked as a consultant psychiatrist in rehabilitation psychiatry in the independent sector for 15 years where all of my patients were commissioned by the NHS. I have also previously worked part time in the NHS for 15 years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In total, I have cared for NHS patients for 25 years. I have been working within the speciality since 2001 and first worked as a consultant in 2009. I have also worked in a medical management position as a medical director for six years.
I have a Certificate of Completion of specialist Training (CCT) in general adult psychiatry and a specialist endorsement in liaison and rehabilitation psychiatry.
I have given evidence at crown court, civil court, mental health review tribunals, employment tribunals, regulatory body tribunals, family court, parole board hearings, coroner's court and the Royal Courts of Justice.
Since 2009 I have prepared an average of 75 medico-legal reports a year for civil, family, criminal courts and employment tribunals.
I have a breadth of experience in key psychiatric conditions which include depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorder, bipolar affective disorders, schizophrenia, addiction to alcohol and illicit substances and personality disorders.
Once instructed, I can turn my reports around in four weeks. My claimant-defendant ratio is 60:40.
