Dr Carlos M H Gόmez is the Clinical Director of Intensive Care at The Harley Street Clinic and a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Intensive Care and Anaesthesia at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London. His clinical interests include cardio-pulmonary intensive care, inflammatory response and acute renal failure, cardiovascular anaesthesia, echocardiography, heart failure, long term ventilation and difficult ventilation and weaning. He has written several manuscripts, chapters and reviews on these subjects and is an avid teacher of medical, postgraduate and allied health students. He has been a member of the St Mary’s Research Ethics Committee and advisor to Deaths. He is currently a member of the expert panel on upper gastro-intestinal bleeding guidelines for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). He frequently provides second opinions in difficult cases. Regularly conducts case reviews for the Westminster Coroner and chairs the St Mary’s Intensive Care programme.
