Mr Amir Kaisary is a Consultant Urological surgeon with over 30 years’ experience. His expertise encompasses all aspects of general urology, with a particular emphasis on the treatment of urological cancers.
Mr Kaisary was the Lead Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Royal Free NHS Trust London Hospital (1987 – 2010) and in Private Practice at the Wellington Hospital, London (1987 – 2015). He gained extensive experience in renal, prostate and bladder cancer management and had experience in dealing with the major surgical complications following gynaecological surgery, including perforated bladder, fistulae and ureteric damage. He served a very busy Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit, both at the Royal Free NHS Trust and the Wellington Hospital.
Mr Kaisary founded 'The Prostate Laboratory' at the Royal Free Hospital in 1988 and subsequently at the Wellington Hospital where he offered advanced expertise in the whole spectrum of prostate ailments, namely diagnosis and assessment of prostatic disease, including inflammation, benign and malignant conditions. His expertise in benign prostate enlargement management includes active conservative observation, medical therapy and endoscopic resection/Green Light laser vaporisation.
In the prostate cancer field, Mr Kaisary has long established expertise in ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy techniques, including trans-rectal and trans-perineal approaches. The treatment modalities in prostate cancer involved surgery and various radiotherapy approaches, namely Brachytherapy treatment and assessing patients to receive CyberKnife and External Beam Radiotherapy. He has expertise in MRI fusion targeted biopsy and placement of prostate markers (Fucidials), transperineally and transrectally under ultrasound control.
His clinical work, supported by considerable research, resulted in publications as well as national and international presentations. He maintains close academic links with university departments for teaching and research.
Mr Kaisary has completed eight years of regular appraisals. He is an approved appraiser by the Federation of Independent Practitioner Organisations (FIPO). He undertook training as an Expert Witness at Bond Solon in 2015. He is a full-time dedicated Expert Witness in Urology and has produced more than 50 reports in urology, mainly prostate gland issues, over the last two years. He is a member of the Academy of Experts.
