I have been a consultant neonatologist based in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital since 2000. As well as being an honorary senior lecturer in child health I have been head of neonatal services in NHS Grampian. I am currently the clinical lead for the new Baird Family Hospital, NHS Grampian and lead for the North of Scotland neonatal transport service.
I was the director of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Scotland from 2003 until 2019and have expertise in resuscitation of the newborn. I am active in research having published work on brain perfusion and injury. I am co-author of the book “Medical Negligence and Childbirth” 2nd edition, Bloomsbury publications 2021.
My clinical practice covers all aspect of newborn medicine including, resuscitation, intensive care, preterm infants, newborn follow up and outcome. I have a special interest in the causation of autism and ASD. I am happy to provide expert reports on any of the above.
