Mr Peter Willson, Consultant General Surgeon with a private practice at The New Victoria, Parkside and St Anthony’s Hospitals in Surrey and SW London. He retired from NHS practice at Kingston Hospital, a District Hospital, in March 2018.
Emergencies commonly treated include appendicitis, diverticulitis, the acute abdomen, peptic ulcer disease, bowel perforation, pancreatitis, abdominal trauma, bowel obstruction and head injury (local management not neurosurgery).
He has the following sub-specialty interests;
Benign Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Surgery: Gallstones, disease of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum and small bowel. Fundoplication for acid reflux and hiatus hernia. Pancreatitis. He does not perform surgery for malignancy of the upper gut. Hernia Surgery: He has experience in the management of all types of abdominal hernia surgery. Laparoscopy: He has experience in laparoscopic abdominal surgery.
Energy in Surgery: He is expert in electrosurgery (diathermy), ultrasonics, vessel sealing, ignition hazards and burns during surgery.
He does not perform elective colorectal surgery.
