Dr Tim Exworthy

Overview: A specialist in men’s mental health, forensic psychiatry, offending and service development, Dr Exworthy holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Law. Expertise: Dr Exworthy has held clinical responsibility at all levels of the secure care pathway, from high to low secure, before his current clinical role in an acute medium secure service. He is the Clinical Director for the Men’s Service at St Andrew’s Healthcare. His research interests include the interface between psychiatry, law and human rights. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London. Dr Exworthy’s principal medico-legal interest is in the assessment of restricted patients as part of their application to the Mental Health Tribunal.
