Dr David Prothero

Dr David Prothero is a Consultant Psychiatrist. He qualified as a doctor in 1960, and obtained the Diploma in Psychological Medicine in 1964. He was appointed as a Consultant Psychiatrist in 1969. Since 1986, he has been a Consultant Psychiatrist at The Priory Hospital North London, which is an independent psychiatric hospital, which admits both private patients and patients from the National Health Service.

He has a vast experience in psychiatry and special interest in puerperal psychiatric disorders occupational health - psychiatric fitness for work and psychiatric education.

Dr Prothero has over 10 years experience preparing medico legal reports. Within the past three years he has prepared 100 medico legal reports annually in relation to personal injury and alleged medical negligence. With an approximate split of 40% claimant, 40% defendant and 20% as a single joint expert. He has been trained in giving evidence in court and has given oral evidence on a number of occasions.
