My specialist areas of expertise are exhaust emissions, lubricants and fuels principally in the area of engines and vehicles.
My background is in small to large engine development and operation; lubricant and fuel development, testing and use. I investigate problems of engine and vehicle operation and failures of engines and, amongst other things, problems with their lubrication, fuelling and emissions control systems.
I can provide expertise concerning how exhaust emissions are produced by engines and vehicles and how they can be measured and reduced, including the use of after treatment devices.
My tribology background provides me with the knowledge to offer technical support on lubricants and lubrication, friction and wear - not just in engines but in other vehicle parts - and in a range of other engineering applications.
My fuels experience includes the specification and use of petrol (gasoline), diesel, biofuels, alternative fuels and fuel additives.
I can analyse and provide solutions to sensitive complex technical problems.
I have experience in the development of Standards and Test Protocols Europe wide and Standardisation.
I have received instructions from Claimant/Pursuer/Prosecution and Defendant/Respondent in civil and criminal cases in England and Scotland. I have also acted in high profile Class Actions and International cases and presented evidence in Court.
