Clare Bliss

Clare is a Registered General Nurse with 19 years’ clinical experience both in the civilian and military field. Clare has spent the past 13 years working within General Practice and Primary Healthcare. Clare also serves as a commissioned officer within the Army Reserve having deployed abroad on various operations, providing medical cover and more recently in the role of Officer in Charge of PHC.

Clare’s current role is as a Nursing Services Manager in a large rural GP Practice in North Oxfordshire. Her role includes managing a team of eight nursing staff and working clinically as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in a prescribing role. Clare is an autonomous practitioner, assessing and delivering care for patients of all ages with both proactive and reactive health needs. Clare’s areas of expertise lie within the areas of respiratory disease, tissue viability, infection control, admission avoidance, frailty and chronic pain and she currently works clinically within all these areas.

Training, mentoring and coaching are key within both her NHS and military roles and she has been the author of many policies and protocols and regularly has regional input into NHS initiatives and trials. Other areas of expertise include healthcare governance, diabetes, triage and minor illness, chronic disease prevention and medication management.

She has extensive experience of assessing needs and care planning for clients with a variety of physical conditions within the NHS and armed forces and maintains her CPD and educational portfolio. During her career she has also been an active member of various charities supporting the Royal British Legion, Streetchild, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and SWIFT Medics.

Clare currently works for Jane James & Associates providing liability reports and is instructed by both Claimant and Defendant Firms. Clare is an Accredited Expert Witness through the Bond Solon/Cardiff University Expert Witness accreditation programme.
