Practice established 1928 by current Director’s father. Mr J P Freeman joined the company in 1972 following practical and academic training. Expertise in all types and sizes of pleasure craft from a 3.5m personal watercraft to 90m composite yacht. Extensive experience of accidents, boatyard disputes, cavitation, collisions, construction errors, design faults, diagnostic engineering, hydro-statics and dynamics, insurance disputes, machinery damage, noise and vibration control, refit control, rig failures, shedding vortices, survey omissions, torsional vibration, valuations.
Responsible for the investigation of all aspects of marine insurance claims and preparation of expert witness reports for Lawyers. Specialising in diagnosing mechanical failure of machinery and structural failures of hull structures. Investigating and reporting on more than 500 claims in the years that the company has been formed including mast evaluation, pre-purchase surveys, valuations, compliance surveys, build supervision.
Extensive Court experience both as Expert for one party and Single Joint Expert. Clear, concise reports compliant with Court protocol.
