Alan has been involved in acoustics for over 40 years, gaining considerable experience in a wide range of major industrial, architectural, environmental and transportation projects, and now provides CSA with the benefit of this wisdom and experience on a consultative basis.
He has provided expert witness evidence in Court, including criminal proceedings and at Public Inquiries. These have included landmark cases such as Thames Ditton Lawn Tennis Club and Richardson v Devizes Borough Council. He has also acted for the Ministry of Defence in relation to claims of structural damage to properties from Tornado jet fighter aircraft flyovers in Somerset and given expert opinions in relation to noise induced hearing loss claims in a number of successful actions. Alan provided evidence to the Lands Tribunal for Land Compensation claims against Manchester and East Midlands Airports, and forensic reports for the court in relation to speech and audibility in numerous criminal proceedings.
The company is an active member of the Association of Noise Consultants, of which Alan was Chairman between 1999-2001.
