I am a Registered Nurse and Medico Legal Expert with 25 years of full-time NHS experience. I continue to work as a Nurse at an acute NHS Trust and within the private sector.
I have worked as a medico legal expert since 2008. I have been trained in all aspects of the medico legal process including giving evidence in Court. I am fully conversant with CPR rules and directions. I have given evidence both in the Crown Court in England and to the Fatal Accident and Sudden Death Enquiry Court in Scotland.
On average, I prepare 100 Medico Legal reports each year. My Defendant/Claimant split currently stands at 40/60.

I have significant experience in the management of Serious Incidents and Never Events at a local and regional level. More recently I have been working on the Learning Disability Death Reviewer (LeDeR) programme managed by the University of Bristol. Within this role I have been examining the lives and deaths of people with Learning Disabilities, reporting to a local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). I have been commissioned by a UK Hospice to manage nursing concerns surrounding controlled drug administration. I have been commissioned by an NHS provider organization to work with staff clinically to address concerns in relation to patient care. I have also worked with an Ambulance service to retrospectively review serious clinical incidents.
I am employed on a part time substantive contract within the Fitness to Practise Directorate of the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registrant Case Examiner where I am protecting the public and maintaining public confidence in the Nursing and Midwifery professions.
