Mr Porter holds a Batchelor of Science degree in Physiology with Chemistry and, until 2011, was employed by the Forensic Science Service (33 years total service) as a court reporting officer specialising in toxicology and as an Authorised Analyst. Since April 2011, he has operated as an independent forensic consultant (toxicology) reporting a variety of case types including coroner’s cases, alcohol technical defences, drugs/driving and criminal toxicology. He has also given lectures at the University of Central Lancashire to overseas visitors on general toxicology and worked briefly as a lecturer in forensic toxicology at that university.
