Details

Mr Edward McKintosh is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and previous Clinical Director for Neurosciences, Stroke and Spine Surgery, based at the Royal London Hospital, Europe’s busiest Major Trauma Centre. As well as treating emergency and traumatic brain and spine conditions, he has a special interest in brain tumour surgery and neuroendoscopy (using endoscopes within the brain), neck and back pain. He has also recently been appointed as an Associate Adviser at NHS Resolution.

Mr McKintosh has extensive medicolegal experience, including sitting as a medical member on War Pensions tribunals and Employment Support Allowance (ESA) tribunals. He has completed the ‘Excellence in Report Writing’ course run by Bond Solon and the ‘BMA Courtroom Skills Course’. He regularly provides reports for the GMC, and for the Health Service Ombudsman. He can provide medicolegal reports in the following areas:

Head trauma
Degenerative neck and spine conditions, including disc prolapse and cauda equina syndrome
Hydrocephalus
Brain tumours
