Mr Andras Gal

Mr Andras (Miklos) Gal is a Staff Grade Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon based at the Orthopaedic Department of Southend Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

His NHS practice is in Trauma and Orthopaedics (staff surgeon). He has wide experience in different fields of Orthopaedics, including several years of experience in Spinal Surgery. Mr Gal has special interest in Hand Surgery, Shoulder Surgery and Trauma (including Children’s Trauma).

Mr Gal has undertaken specialist expert witness training, specifically the Bond Solon Excellence in Report Writing – Written Evidence, December 2016. He has published articles since 1994 and has made many presentations.

Graduate of the Semmelweis Medical University, Budapest, Hungary, MD 1994. Specialist for Trauma Surgery (Hungary) - November, 2000. Specialist for Hand Surgery (Hungary) - April, 2004. On the UK specialist register (Accident and Emergency) - since November, 2004. European Diploma of Hand Surgery (FESSH,Glasgow) - June, 2006. (diploma examination by the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand). Mr Gal has undertaken specialist expert witness training, specifically the Bond Solon Excellence in Report Writing – Written Evidence, December 2016.

Associate Member of the British Society for Surgery for the Hand. Oversees Member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (there are strict criteria for such elections).
