Professor Carr has a wealth of experience in his clinical nursing career, in both mental and general nursing, working in over a dozen hospitals in the UK. He is a former Head of Nursing Studies at Manchester Polytechnic (now Manchester Metropolitan University).
He was the Chief Executive of the Registered Nursing Home Association (RNHA).
He is a member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses, and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL)
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
