Angela Hennessey FCA FCIArb founded her specialist share valuation consultancy in 2002 and has practised in this area now for over 30 years. Her practice area now focuses exclusively on:
• The valuation of businesses, unquoted shares and private companies

She can advise on valuations for dispute resolution, tax and commercial purposes. She undertakes assignments in connection with:
• Dispute resolution (acting as expert witness, expert determiner, adviser or arbitrator)
• Agreeing the open market value of companies, shares in unquoted companies, intangible assets and share options with HM Revenue and Customs
• The transfer of a business or shares in a private company
• Matrimonial disputes

The value of a company's shares can be at issue in many types of dispute, for example:
• Shareholder disputes resulting in petitions under section 994 of the Companies Act 2006
• Disputes arising from matrimonial proceedings concerning the value of a family business
• The departure of a shareholder from the management of a company and the requirement for his/her shares to be transferred under provisions included in the articles of association or shareholders' agreement

Angela Hennessey is an experienced expert, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Chartered Arbitrator. She can provide the following services:
• Advice on valuation issues prior to a claim being made
• Expert witness in litigation, arbitration or in mediation proceedings
• Expert determination, where the parties agree to be bound by the expert's decision
• Expert opinions on value either appointed jointly by the parties or by one party only
• Advice to assist with negotiations
• Acting as Arbitrator under the Arbitration Act 1996 or institutional rules

She has been appointed on many occasions by the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales to act as independent expert in determining valuation and breach of warranty disputes where the parties cannot agree on who to appoint as expert.
