Mr Roger Oliver Plail is a Consultant Urologist at the Sussex Premier Health Hospital with over 35 years experience as a Consultant Urologist at East Sussex Healthcare Trust, Conquest Hospital Hastings and Eastbourne District General Hospital.
He has extensive general urological experience and surgical practice in both open and laparoscopic procedures. He has particular specialisation in Endoscopic Urology, Iatrogenic urinary tract injuries, Urological Oncology, Female Continence, Erectile Dysfunction and Vasectomy Reversal.
Mr Plail has been in Medicolegal practice for over 20 years, undertaking work for instructing agencies including: Premex +, Speed Medical, UKIM and the GMC with direct referrals from solicitors including: Fletchers, Irwin Mitchell, Fieldfisher and Slater Gordon.
He has extensive experience in litigation with a claimant : defendant ratio of 85:15%.
He has undertaken a large number of complex Personal Injury cases which are often associated with brain injury, significant spinal and pelvic injuries with consequent upper and lower limb neurological damage and collateral damage to bladder, bowel and sexual function.
He has experience in the criminal court through Forensic Access and other agencies, acting for both claimant and defendant in cases of allegations of sexual misconduct associated with concomitant alleged erectile dysfunction. He has experience in being cross examined.
Mr Plail obtained the CUBS Cardiff University Bond Solon certification in civil and criminal disciplines and has completed training with the Society of Mediators for Civil cases. He remains current with CPD compliance.
Mr Plail has had extensive experience in Urological educationand training through BAUS, the British Association of Urological Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons and nationally and internationally as President of the Urology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine. He has been a regular reviewer of publications submitted to the British Journal of Urology International.
