Mr Banerjee is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at University Hospitals Leicester.
He has expertise in Ophthalmology specialising in Retinal Disease, common eye problems like cataracts and has a sub specialist interest in Vitreo-retinal surgery and retinal diseases, both medical and surgical retina diseases. Also in Age Related Macular Degeneration and anti VEGF treatment including LUCENTIS and AVASTIN. Surgical retinal conditions include macular hole surgery and retinal detachment repair.
Special clinical interests include: local anaesthetic vitreo retinal surgery, retinal vascular disease, diabetic retinopathy and modern intraocular lenses.
Mr Banerjee performs modern cataract surgery including the use of accommodative intra ocular lenses and IOLVip. He also offers OZURDEX and premium lenses for cataracts (less dependency on glasses).
Mr Banerjee has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist for over 15 years and has been providing medical reports for approximately 10 years, the types of cases include accidents at work leading to visual loss, alleged assault causing eye trauma. He has been instructed on the whole by the Claimants solicitors. I currently provide 6-8 reports per annum including Clinical Negligence as well as Personal Injury reports.
In all reports Mr Banerjee aims to write a detailed comprehensive report with simple explanations of all technical terms. All reports will contain a medical history based on clinical notes and patients comments, results of his clinical examination and summary of the injuries suffered. This will be followed by a comment on the prognosis and capacity to work and impact on the day to day life of the patient.
