Dr. Hodgson possesses 35 years of experience in the design and assessment of structures of all types, to various types of loading, using various codes and standards. He has expertise in the retrofitting of buildings and structures to extend their life, rectify design/construction defects or damage, or for a change in use.
Over the last 20 years, Dr. Hodgson has provided expert technical advice to his clients on how best to make their facilities safe. He has provided similar expertise on how best to repair after events, such as earthquakes, explosions, fires, soil settlements, and ground-bearing capacity failures. Much of Dr. Hodgson's work involves design reviews based either on others’ design work, as-built drawings, or site surveys/investigations.
