Ryan Goodwin is a digital forensic investigator who has worked in the public & private sector in network administration & law enforcement roles.
Ryan started his career in digital forensics in 2015 with the Devon & Cornwall Police High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU), carrying out complex case work and criminal investigations involving both computer and mobile based exhibits. Ryan has also provided network administration within the HTCU and has supported private businesses in roles utilizing Microsoft business applications.
He is now using this experience in Cyber Security Incident Response in accordance with ISO 27043 and the Association of Chief Police Officers' (ACPO) Good Practice Guide for Digital Evidence.
• Providing incident response services to organisations with and without in-house cyber security capabilities
• Performing forensic analysis on static and live environments to find the cause of security breaches
• Carry out digital forensic acquisition and analysis of PC and Mobile exhibits
• Provide support capabilities in Windows Server & Desktop environments
Incident Response: Ryan assisted in the responding of a computer incident whereby a breach had occurred and data had been viewed or stolen. Using his technical experience, Ryan was able to assist with a wider investigation that led to a full report being delivered to the client.
Digital Forensics: Ryan is a seasoned practitioner in the practice of Digital Forensics, working for three years on criminal cases whilst at Devon & Cornwall Police. His investigative experience had led to successful convictions of suspects in court, leading to the protection and safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults.
IT Support: As a keen computer enthusiast, Ryan is always looking for the newest cutting edge developments in technology. This desire to understand and learn more has helped Ryan in developing his skills to assist with clients.
