Dr Raviraj is an independent Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist based in Manchester. He has authored reports to the Crown, Magistrates and Family Courts. He has acted upon the instructions of CPS and the defence teams.

He has unique clinical experience of working in high, medium, low secure and community forensic psychiatric services. He has extensive experience of working in various prisons across the North of England. He regularly provided reports to the local Criminal Courts on offenders with mental health issues whilst working as a substantive consultant in the last 10 years.

He worked as a full time consultant at the Spinney in the last 5 years in Atherton where he specialised in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of mentally disordered offenders.

He previously worked as a NHS consultant for 6 years at the Edenfield Centre, Prestwich Hospital, Manchester. In that role as a NHS gatekeeper, he advised district psychiatric services, local prisons, MAPPA, probation and Social Services, in the Greater Manchester area, regarding the risk management of referred patients.

He was awarded LLM in Mental Health Law from Northumbria University in May 2010; his dissertation was: ‘Murder by mentally ill - A review of the Defences of Insanity and Diminished Responsibility’.

Dr Raviraj speaks Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil languages.

He will endeavour to submit his report within three weeks of receipt of all paperwork and can provide reports much earlier if all the information is provided with the initial request.

He will be available to visit clients at solicitor’s offices or at home to provide reports in time.
