Arthur Carlisle is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer at AIC Consulting Engineers Limited and has over 30 years’ experience in all areas of power generation, industrial plants, project development and operations. He has served many years in senior positions internationally and carried out numerous fault investigations and root cause analyses across the globe.

His experience encompasses: major coal, oil and gas fired power plants; chemical plants; repair and maintenance facilities; and renewable energy facilities including, wind, solar and biomass.

Arthur has extensive knowledge and experience working on all types of plant and equipment, including: large rotating machinery; diesel engine generators; gas fired engines; large industrial boilers; transformers; electrical networks; gas and steam turbines; steam systems and waste heat boilers; wind turbines and solar farms; compressors; pumps and pumping systems; heat exchangers; fuel preparation and storage; and materials handling.

Having been Project Manager and Owner’s Engineer for various multi-disciplinary projects worldwide, he has a proven track record in successfully completing complex construction projects, on time and within budget.  

Arthur has held the position of Plant Manager of major energy producing facilities, responsible for all equipment, daily operations and maintenance, planning of outages, emergency repairs, quality control, environmental management, fuel supply and electrical interface. His duties encompassed staffing, training and staff development, health and safety, quality control and monitoring programmes, coordination with government agencies, procurement of supplies and parts for outages and operations.

For more than 10 years, as Expert Witness, Arthur has applied his broad engineering knowledge, experience and expertise to advise on numerous matters for International Arbitrations and has provided Expert Testimony in Court. 

Appointments encompass; fault analysis, patent infringement, root cause investigations, damage assessments, recovery, repairs and restoration, vibration analysis, metal fatigue, corrosion, creep, wear and tear, misuse, maintenance and operating practices, environmental factors, cost management, operational data extraction and analysis, and drafting Expert and Legal Reports which are CPR35 compliant.
