Dr Graeme Thompson is a Consultant MSK Radiologist at Oxford University Hospitals and Oxford Musculoskeletal Radiology, he has over 15 years of experience.
He is skilled at the full range of musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations, including the use of doppler and dynamic imaging. Performing the full range of US guided interventions, including but not limited to joint and tendon sheath injections, aspiration, tenotomy, barbotage and biopsy.
He has expertise in spinal intervention, including nerve root and facet blocks as well as epidural injection, under CT guidance. Other CT procedures include biopsy of bone and soft tissue as well as SIJ and piriformis injection with steroid or botox. Also skilled at the full range of MR arthrogram procedures. I report all MSK examinations and have a special interest in nerve imaging, particularly MR neurography.
He undertakes cases from patients of all ages covering the full range of MSK pathology. His special interest is sports injuries. He has expertise in creating and maintaining image protocols as well as quality review and improvement.
Dr Thompson has experience in teaching registrars and in interacting with clinicians at the console as well as in multidisciplinary meetings. As an example,he was involved in a monthly meeting at his hospital in Cape Town with a sarcoma surgeon, oncologists and pathologists.
