Robert regularly provides expert witness evidence in relation to Court of Protection and Deputyship costs in litigated cases. He acts as a professional deputy for property and finances and also assists lay deputies with the day to day running of their deputyships.
Robert has acted for many individuals with a significant compensation award following a successful clinical negligence or personal injury claim. He has been involved in the employment of care teams, purchasing and adapting property, liaising with investment advisors and case managers.
Robert has extensive experience of making applications to the Court of Protection (both contentious and non-contentious) for statutory wills, gifts, and variations to deputyship orders, including permission to purchase property, as well as applications to release funds from the Court Funds Office.
Robert is also able to assist clients who have a damages award and wish to establish a personal injury trust.
As well as practicing in England & Wales, Robert has an interest in mental capacity law in other jurisdictions and is a member of the International Guardianship Network.
