Helen Garrott is a British and Australian trained consultant ophthalmologist, having undertaken multiple fellowships in oculoplastic and orbital surgery in Bristol and at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. She is an associate member of the Royal College of Ophthalmoloigsts and a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS). Her qualifications are BMedSci, MBBS (Hons), FRANZCO.
Helen holds an NHS consultant post and was appointed in 2010 as lead for the Orbital Service at Bristol Eye Hospital, one of the pre-eminent institutions for eye surgery in the UK. She deals with complex orbital and oculoplastic problems, including tumours, inflammatory diseases and thyroid eye disease, and receives referrals from the entire South West region. She also undertakes cataract surgery, as well as general ophthalmology.
Helen complements her busy clinical schedule with expert medico-legal work. With extensive experience in the field of ophthalmology, seeing a range of patients with various eye conditions in Bristol and across the South West, Helen is ideally placed to comment and act as an expert on a wide range of eye conditions.
With a strong private practice and 11 years experience as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at a major NHS University Teaching Hospital in Bristol, Helen Garrott has experience in a wide range of eye conditions and their treatments. She is able to provide an opinion on ocular trauma, eyelid surgery and most other ophthalmological matters including cataract surgery.
Miss Garrott understands the need for a quick and reliable turnaround of medical reports, is current with legal protocols and Civil Procedure Rules, and has an analytical, logical and impartial approach to cases. She maintains her medico-legal CPD through regular attendance at medico-legal courses.
Miss Garrott is also experienced in medical negligence claims.
