Dr Riaz is a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist specialising in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy. In addition to this she is also an early years specialist (0-8 years old children).
Dr Riaz can carry out independent assessments in a variety of areas and write reports for the courts (when required) relating to children and parents or other family members. Her background began as a childrens specialist completing concise assessments of children and their mothers who were fleeing domestic violence. From there, she moved into a family support role within Islington Council Children Services working with families and children under the age of 5 years who were referred to social services and included those on the child protection register. Dr Riaz completed CAF assessment using the every child matter framework and attending protection hearings, presenting assessment outcomes and recommendations. Dr Riaz then moved into her role as a psychologist, frequently completing psychological formulations / assessments for adults both within the NHS and privately.

Medico-legal assessment- personal injury assessments

Dr Riaz also worked for a medico-legal company carrying out assessments and completing court reports for personal injury claims and can prepare reports for the social services, child protection conferences and Family Courts (if required).

Dr Riaz holds personal professional liability & indemnity insurance and has undertaken specific medico-legal training in Family Law proceedings through Bond Solon.
