Mr Russell W Walker is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon at the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (since 2001), predominantly working at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, although also at other hospitals within the health board.

As a consultant Mr Walker has managed a wide range of musculoskeletal trauma, as well as undertaking elective orthopaedic surgery, predominantly involving hip, knee and hand and wrist conditions. He is one of the five sub specialty hand and wrist consultant surgeons within the health board, managing hand and wrist trauma, as well as the elective hand and wrist service.

Mr Walker has been preparing personal injury medico-legal reports since 2001. He prepares between 100-150 reports a year, predominantly for the claimant although more recently he has been preparing reports for the defendant. He reports on all musculoskeletal injuries (fractures and soft tissue), but with a particular interest in hand and wrist injuries.

Clinics are held in Newport, southeast Wales, and in Clifton, Bristol.


Attended the ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) Instructors course and for a number of years taught on the Basic Skills in Hand Surgery course at the Royal College of Surgeons
