My specific area of expertise lies within the UK Domestic Drugs Supply markets encompassing all drugs and arenas including daytime addict markets, involving Crack & Heroin, and the Nighttime Economy 'party' drugs including Cocaine, MDMA, Cannabis (& Cultivations) SCRA's and Amphetamines,
I have been delivering opinion evidence as a Police Drug Expert witness since 2005.
Over the last 10 years and up this current day, I have personally trained over 500 of the UK's current Police Drug Experts. I therefore understand what they should be saying within their statements, what they should not be saying, and whether what they are saying is factually correct or whether they are stepping outside their area of knowledge.
Throughout my time as both a practising expert witness and an expert witness trainer I have been an absolute advocate of the requirement of all law enforcement drug experts to go above and beyond with their impartiality, yet still to this day, I read reports that are overly prosecutorial in their content.
I retired from the Police in October 2020 and now own and run Appropriate Training & Consultancy Ltd, delivering bespoke drugs training to Police forces and partner agencies through www.aptraining.co.uk
For the 5 years up to my retirement, I was the association secretary of the UK law enforcement association DEWVA (Drug Expert Witness & Valuation Association) and so am aware of all the published DEWVA guidance, and its content.
I have been working, on a consultancy basis, since January 2021 providing expert reports and I am open to instruction from all parties.
