Mr. Davinder Paul Singh Baghla

Mr Baghla is a consultant at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust undertaking general orthopaedic and trauma surgery. He is also Trauma Director for Ealing Hospital, being responsible for maintaining clinical governance and Trauma unit accreditation. This role has taken a keen interest in the management of femoral neck fracture patients, conducting joint ward rounds with the orthogeriatricians, and facilitating the affiliation with the National Hip Fracture Database. He is also the responsible director for the management of all major trauma and its engagement with the network major trauma centre.  

Over the past 12 years he has developed and delivered a special interest in Foot and Ankle surgery. This service also provides a new orthopaedic dimension to the diabetic foot multidisciplinary team, as well as offering a specialist provision for rheumatology patients.  

Trained on the use of minimally invasive foot surgery, which in combination with post-operative nerve blocks allows this major surgery to become a daycase procedure.

Non-clinical supporting roles undertaken include clinical governance lead, and surgical tutor / teaching lead for Imperial Medical students. He also initiates the monthly registrar journal club, and provides continual support for departmental research.

Mr Baghla has undertaken Medico-legal reporting since 2010, acting as an expert witness for >500 reports per year. Solely claimant base work has been conducted as well as medical negligence. He has ICO and MEDCO full registration and completed the required training portfolio provided by Bond Solon.
